Introduction
Meetings are an everyday part of organisational life. Good ones help to solve problems, make decisions, provide important or vital information, build teams, and generally contribute to an organisation's performance. Without good management at best they may be a waste of time, and at worst detrimental. This workshop is designed to help managers ensure their meetings are well organisation, managed and effective.
Objective
The workshop is designed to enable participants to be able to:
- Analyse the cost of meetings and determine the necessity
- Plan meetings to ensure effectiveness
- Adopt appropriate styles for managing meetings depending on the purpose
- Set outcome orientated agendas
- Use techniques for encouraging contribution
- Use alternative meeting format to maintain interest and involvement
- Use techniques for managing difficult people in meetings
- Follow up meetings effectively
