Communication skills for relationship building
Course No: M102a
Introduction
These days we need to be more effective communicators to be successful in business - and in life. Skilful and sensitive communication builds TRUST and atmosphere of CO-OPERATION that will benefit all of your relationships, whether in business or otherwise. People have an underlying desire to be understood. Stephen Covey Said, "Seek first to understand, then to be understood"This workshop is fun and interactive and will cover 3 essential elements of effective communication:
- Active listening
- Questioning techniques
- Body language
Objective
Listening occupies a large part of a working week and is about receiving and understanding what is said and above all HOW it is said. If your understanding is not what the speaker intended then there is ample scope for error and conflict. Asking the right questions can:
- Make someone think
- Elicit information
- Clarify what is being said
- Gain specific information
- Confirm agreement
Audience
The programme is designed for everyone, but particularly managers interested in improving their communication skills to benefit their business and personal lives.
