The Welcome Back Interview
Course No: HR102
Introduction
There is no doubt that absence from the workplace is expensive. However, the direct costs that absence causes are only a part of the problem. Absence from the workplace disrupts production, operations, customer service and morale. Organisations have to incur costs on temporary cover or overtime as a result. Worse still, unchecked absence can lead to bad feeling, conflict and disciplinary action, including dismissal – which, in turn, can lead to Employment Tribunal hearings and even compensation payments where organisations are unable to demonstrate that they have acted fairly.
Objective
The workshop is designed to enable participants to be able to:
- Establish the purpose of the ‘welcome back interview’.
- Understand Employment Legislation that they need to be aware of in relation to this topic.
- Understand and practice the skills required to carry out the interview effectively.
Audience
Team leaders, supervisors, and managers.
